ITFLOWS researchers will host a policy webinar on Tuesday, the 16th of November 2021, 12:30 – 14:30 (CET).
The webinar titled ‘The EU Pact on Migration: A New Framework for Predicting and Anticipating “Crises”?’, will focus on a number of key thematic focuses within the EU’s approach to ‘crisis anticipation and response’, which are derived from previous experiences in which the EU tackled a declared ‘crises’. The Webinar will focus on the broader implications of the EU crisis management system laid down in the Pact, especially in relation to the Pact’s proposal on a Crisis and Force Majeure Regulation.
The Webinar will address some key questions within the EU migration domain such as
- What qualifies as a ‘crisis’ and how its existence is assessed?
- What are the deficits characterizing existing maps and visualisations of immigration dynamics in the EU?
- What are the ethical and legal dilemmas raised by predictive and mapping approaches based on existing state of the art literature?
The webinar itself is a public open access event and will be hosted on Zoom. For more information please click on the following:
